The ZeRo Lab is proud to announce that one of its teams, represented in the 2025 FLIPSpace: Advanced Mobility pitch competition secured a first place position. The event was held at the University of Arkansas’s new Institute for Integrative and Innovative Research (I3R) and brought together top innovators from across Arkansas.

Team ChargeChain, made up of Adedolapo Ogungbire, Mubarak Thanni, and Saurav Pokharel, developed a peer-to-peer network for at-home electric vehicle (EV) charging. This solution allows homeowners to share their charging stations with others, helping to expand access to EV charging in local communities. The project was built using the Charge Station Management System from Argonne National Laboratory.

Over the past seven months, the FLIPSpace cohort tackled urgent mobility challenges, worked with regional partners, and received expert mentorship. Teams used federal intellectual property to prototype solutions and gained hands-on experience in building ventures focused on sustainability and user needs.

The pitch competition was the final event of the program. Teams presented their ideas to partners at HIGHWAY Ventures for a chance at funding and incubation. ChargeChain’s innovative approach to EV charging stood out for its practical impact and potential to support the growing adoption of electric vehicles.
