Arna Nishita Nithila is a current civil engineering student at the University of Arkansas and a graduate research assistant at the ZeRo Lab. She was recently awarded the highly competitive distinguished academy fellowship (DAF) which provides financial support to outstanding doctoral students.
The DAF is a merit-based award by the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. It provides up to $12,000 in fellowship fund for doctoral students for up to four years of their academic pursuit. In addition, the fellowship also ensures that Arna receives a 50% graduate assistantship position that comes with a monthly stipend and tuition waiver with a discount on her student health insurance throughout the duration of the fellowship.
